In her presentation "I Think, Therefore I Engineer," Adela discussed how most people apply an engineering thought process in their daily lives without even realizing it and walked the audience through the engineering design process as a means to accomplish a goal.
Adela Wee is a systems engineer at Carnegie Robotics, LLC. Over the past decade, she has been immersed in the field of robotics, receiving two degrees in robotics engineering, and is now a professional in the industry. Her non-traditional views on engineering stem from attending Olin College, where she tackled complex problems from automating agricultural systems to aiding marine biologists in collecting whale blow. Adela has since picked up an interest in engineering education, and has co-taught courses in systems thinking in engineering and ethics, and assisted in electromechanical prototyping.
