About Bret Klopfenstein

Bret has a broad background in education and science education specifically, and has been engaging diverse learners in exploration and inquiry for over a decade including his work at a Juvenile Hall School, teaching outdoor-education in the Santa Cruz Mountains, and teaching College Prep, Honors, and AP Biology at Ventura High School.  He is now a secondary science teacher specialist helping lead his district’s transition to NGSS implementation.  Bret has also been a co-presenter at the CDE’s NGSS Rollout Events 1 and 2 and is helping lead the charge here in Ventura County to engage students and teachers in the three-dimensions of the NGSS
