Explaining Orbital Diagrams/ Electron Configuration with 3D Atom Models
presented by William L. Brenton
Owner of Educational Products Company, Quanta to Galaxies

Grade Level: 9-12, College
Standards: Physical Science (including chemistry and physics), Instructional Strategies

Presentation Type: Hands-On

Participants cut out patterns and construct paper 3D atom models to explain orbital diagrams and electron configurations. Includes making a polar water molecule.
Participants will learn to build and use physical models to understand how matter is made up of complex tiny particles too small to be seen. This will involve use of small motor skills and problem solving.
