presented by Monique Navarro, Education Coordinator, Channel Islands National Park Services Grade Level: K-5
Standards: Life Science, Instructional Strategies Presentation Type: Hands On This Outdoor Exploration Routine provides students opportunities to develop a mindset of curiosity, using language tools to actively and directly engage with the natural world through speaking, listening, writing, and/ or drawing models. We will be outside for much of this workshop, engaging in the scientific practice of Asking Questions, the crosscutting concept of Patterns, and the science and engineering practice of Developing and Using Models. We will reflect on how to realistically use this activity on our school campuses. This activity authentically supports Science Notebooks.
