Explore human-environmental interactions in this inquiry-based hands-on workshop to prepare students in becoming informed environmental and global citizens. Population Education is a national program that provides FREE curriculum resources and professional development that focuses on human population issues. Since 1975, the program has developed age-appropriate curricula to complement students’ science and social science instruction about human population trends and their impacts on natural resources, environmental quality and human well-being. Engaging best practice activities meet TK-5 NGSS and ELA/math Common Core standards in this workshop! Participants will receive a FREE Pop Ed lesson access code.

About Monica Cooper:
Monica Cooper is a first grade teacher at Gus Franklin Jr STEM Elementary School in Victorville, CA. She has presented workshops for her district, site, CTA and at professional organizations’ conferences. Monica is a member of the California Teacher’s Association (CTA) /Stanford Instructional Leadership Corps (ILC) and a past participant in the initial CTA Teacher Leadership Cohort.
