About Shirleen Oplustic
Shirleen Oplustic is a Teacher on Special Assignment, Media Specialist, for the Pleasant Valley School District.  She specializes in technology integration, writing implementation, English language arts, and library digital media.  Prior to her current assignment, she was a classroom teacher, and director of religious education for PVSD and Naval Base, Ventura County.  Shirleen is tasked with coaching and supporting teachers as they integrate technology into their teaching practice, implementation of a new writing program, working on the district’s piloting of a new language arts adoption, and curating the district’s e-book library.  Shirleen earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and is currently working on a Master of Science Degree in Learning Design and Technology through Purdue University.

About Jamie Alvarez
Jamie Alvarez is a Teacher on Special Assignment in Technology & Curriculum for Pleasant Valley School District. She began working four years ago on integrating technology into the classroom.  Jamie has presented on various technology topics to Gold Coast Cue, Ventura County Office of Education, BTSA, and California State Board Association Conference. She has been intimately involved in planning many districtwide teacher professional development days focusing on the integration of technology into the classroom.  Jamie has designed and implemented lessons for use in all the district’s elementary and secondary schools on various topics including coding, robotics, Google, MakerSpace, and 3D printing, among many others. She is responsible for helping develop digital based assessments and analyzing teachers’ technology needs and providing support. Jamie earned her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s in Educational Technology at California Lutheran University. She is currently working her National Leading Edge Educator Certification through Ventura County Office of Education.
